Kai Barenscher, Senior Manager at WIGeoGIS Vienna, studied economic geography at Leibniz University Hannover and business administration with a focus on economic geography, geoinformatics and marketing at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Barenscher is also a certified controller.
After working as a student in location and sales management at TUI in Hanover, Barenscher started at WIGeoGIS in Vienna in 2002, initially as an intern and working student and from 2004 as a geomarketing analyst. Since 2007, he has been a senior manager in consulting, sales and project management, responsible for map-based solutions in marketing, sales, controlling and management. He is also responsible for and manages the WIGeoGIS research and development projects.
He has been teaching at the Institute for Economic Geography at Leibniz University in Hanover since 2015. Since 2023, he has been an online trainer for geomarketing at Wilke Pharmacy Consulting in Innsbruck.
